In this case, her net worth is not without drama where he was embroiled in a lawsuit with her farmer record label, 1501 Certified Entertainment founded by former Major League Baseball player Carl Crawford in March 2020.

In 2018, she was signed by 150 Certified Entertainment and released her first LP, Fever in May 2019. The release reached #10 on the Billboard 200 chart. Then, she released another EP, Suga by March 2020 debuted at #10 on the Billboard 200.

According to Forbes, in the lawsuit, Megan claimed that Carl and 1501 Certified Entertainment did nothing for her career and signed her for absurd things. Forbes reported that all  1501 Certified Entertainment did for her was pay her $10,000 advance, however that’s a relatively low figure in the rap industry. The label was assumed to take massive shares of her streaming, merchandising, publishing and live performance earnings.

Aside from her small signing bonus of $10,000 as an advance, her contract reportedly also facilitated a 60/40 split of her earnings between Megan and the label where she would receive her 40 percent once the labe;’s costs were recouped.

Reportedly, the label also owns 50 percent of the undivided rights to worldwide copyright and the exclusive rights to Megan’s catalog with them. Moreover, 30 percent of almost all of her sources of income include endorsements, sponsorship, merchandising and every conceivable version of a live performance: clubs shows, concerts, tours, and hosting.

On the other side, Carl denied that contract was unreasonable in a statement to Variety at the time. 1501 Entertainment’ contract also pointed that it has all rights to Megan’s name and likeness for merchandising and branding as well as control of Megan’s live performances and appearances which require her and the label to mutually agree on the revenue split and tour participants.

The contract also demanded 30 percent of whatever income Megan had from work in film, television and essentially any other non-musical ventures.

Carl, as the label head disputed her claims and revealed that they gave Megan a 60-40 split. He also emphasized that Megan got parts of her masters the first time. She’s also getting $100,000 a show which does not want to pay up.
