Mandira Bedi was born on April 15th, 1972 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India to Verinder Singh and Gita Bedi. She has an elder brother. He is a bank investor. She attended Cathedral and John Connon School, Mumbai and then she attended St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai and graduated from there. After that, she did her post graduation from Sophia Polytechnic College in Mumbai.

Mandira Bedi got married to Raj Kaushal on February 14th, 1999. Then, on January 27th, 2011, they announced that they were expecting their first child. Then, on June 19, 2011, Mandira Bedi gave birth to a boy whose name is Vir. She gave birth at the Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai.

In 2013, together with her husband, she had applied for the process of adopting a girl child. Then, on July 28th, 2020, she could adopt a girl who was 4 years old. Her name is Tara Bedi Kaushal.
