After leaving the show, he acted in a movie that had been adapted from a video game called Double Dragon. He also appeared in a sketch on the Late Show with David Letterman. In 1994, the actor was casted in an episode of The Nanny. Then, he played an important role in the Get Smart tv remake before participating in Go Fish by NBC.

A year later, Andy starred in a sitcom NewsRadio aired on NBC. In the show, he acted as Matthew Brock. The show received good feedback even though the ratings said otherwise. Due to a bad result, it was canceled in 1999. Two years before that, Andy came back to the film industry by playing the role in Bangwater. In the film, he acted with Jack Black and Luke Wilson. In the same year, he landed another role in Inspector Gadget.

In 2001, The Andy Dick Show was created by him and some other ones. It was aired on MTV. He was the writer and the director of the show. In each episode, he played a different role. Sadly, the show came to an end in 2003 after a total of three seasons.
